What started as a spin-off of Ghent University in 2001, nowadays forms an international group with Primoris laboratories, the certification company CKCert and the knowledge center Ciboris. More than sufficient reason to take a moment and enjoy this 20 years of existence.

MCPD analysis method officially ISO certified

Primoris offers accredited analysis for the simultaneous determination of 3-MCPD, 2-MCPD and glycidyl esters (GEs) in vegetable oils and fats. We perform these analysis using our new accredited analysis method, which was developed in-house by our R&D department. Furthermore, this method recently received an official ISO certification with the following ISO code: ISO 18363-4:2021. In addition, we have worked in close cooperation with the ISO in order to obtain the official approval and ISO certification of this method.

After a successful audit, our GMP+ certification has been renewed! This is very good news for our customers that are active in the animal feed sector and/or the residual stream. GMP+ is an internationally respected standard in the world of animal feed.

Food fingerprinting as a tool to control food authenticity
|

|
Food fraud is an important issue in the food industry and is attracting much attention from authorities around the world. Ciboris has performed a research project on food fraud in oregano and rice, as examples of spices and herbs and cereals. Fast and cheap analysis methods to determine origin and variety, but also constant product quality and adulteration were successfully developed. Current projects further include food fraud in fruit juice and vegetables.

The 2020 RASFF report is out!

Every year, the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) publishes a report with details regarding notifications that have been done the year before.
According to RASFF of the European Commission, "In 2020, RASFF was in particular confronted with a major food contamination incident when in September, Belgium reported high levels of an unauthorized pesticide, ethylene oxide, in sesame seeds from India."

Quality: overview ring tests

Proficiency tests, independent controls of a laboratory’s analysis quality, are part of Primoris’ everyday operation. Primoris takes part in proficiency tests organized by reputable institutions in the context of European monitoring, internal quality assurance and approvals and certifications.

Ain't no mountain high enough for Primoris!

Needless to say, Primoris has seen an astonishing growth in the past 20 years. The most recent addition is in South-America, more specifically Ecuador, as in August this year we officially founded a commercial office for Primoris Ecuador. Through this office, we can expand our presence in this region even further, in addition to our laboratory in Colombia.
